|Kiwanis Unity Ride to Eliminate||
What a day for the KURE2013 ride. Starts with a radio interview at KNDR FM in Mandon, then a luncheon with about 10 local Eliminate coordinators amd fellow Kiwanians, then a tour of the capital building in Bismarck with my host, Senator Dwight Cook, here pictured in his seat in the Senate chambers (in the back because after 17 years, he has earned the seat closest to the bathroom!!!).
Next is a meet and chat with North Dakota's Attorney General, Wayne Stenehjem. Wayne signed my Guinness World Record book as a "person of notoriety". Unfortunately I lost a bet with Wayne over Arnold Schwartzeneger's real height (6'1") - check is in the mail, Wayne!!
Meeting and BBQ with Kiwanis Club of Mamdan, North Dakota. Host Dwight Cook and Eliminate Coordinator, Darlene Vander Vorst help me hold up the banner. Over 50 Kiwanians showed up, some from 2 hours away. Many thanks. Note the heavens shinibg down on us - maybr a sign to buy a KURE2013 ticket??!!
I leave Mandan, North Dakota after several days of wonderful hospitality and Kiwanis comraderie. My hosts, Senator Dwight Cook and his wife, Shirley, are fabulous hosts who really know how to make a far from home Kiwanian biker feel like he is right at home. Many thanks and now it is off to Billings, Montana, some 400+ miles down the road.
